Progressive Machine & Design is looking for an Electrician to join our team.
Primary Function and Scope:
Level II Electrician
- Responsible for leading and building small to large projects
- Oversee small to larger groups of resources for projects
- Oversee multiple projects in parallel
- Proficiency with responsibilities and duties listed below
- Does not require direct supervision
Level I Electrician
- Responsible for leading and building small to medium size projects
- Oversee one to two resources on a project
- Oversee individual projects
- Proficiency with responsibilities and duties listed below
- May require direct supervision
Responsibilities
- Build equipment to the supplied drawings and specifications
- Attend project meetings
- Guide and/or lead resources on a project
- Review and update estimates to complete (ETC’s)
- Provide rework and print redlines
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications, to determine dimensions for cabinets, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve wiring or assembly problems.
- Make modifications to as-built prints and communicate with engineers on additional details essential to project success.
- Aid with suggestions on basic component purchases (wire-way, terminal blocks, etc.)
- Panel Build
- Lay out control back panel hole locations
- Drill and tap holes as needed
- Mount DIN rail, wire ducts, direct mounted components
- Mount components to DIN rail
- Wire devices to controls prints
- Cutout device locations for mounting (disconnects, A/C units, HMIs, etc.)
- Mount completed back panels into cabinets
- Pneumatic assemblies
- Assemble pneumatic air prep units
- Assemble pneumatic valve banks
- At machine
- Wire from controls cabinet to machine-mounted devices
- May include machine-based distribution blocks
- Plumb pneumatic devices to machine-mounted cylinders
- Dress in cabling and tubing for proper machine operation and to not cause interferences
- Verify initial power-on device operation
- Aids with machine debug, including but not limited to:
- Power on I/O check
- Set up and align sensors (prox switches, photo eyes, hall-effect sensors)
- Wire temporary jumpers and systems, as needed, for debug or troubleshooting.
- Observe machine operation during early debug.
- Required to travel for project install.
- Keeps work area clean.
- Observe safety procedures including but not limited to wearing proper hearing and vision protection with side shields and sturdy footwear.
- Any other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Education and/or experience: Minimum Vocational or Associates Degree with 2 or more years’ of related work experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
